Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) are used to ensure that the electrical installation in a property remains safe for continued use. Landlords are required to have EICRs completed every 5 years, although this may be sooner based on the recommendation of the skilled person conducting the report. The skilled person will classify the report as either satisfactory or unsatisfactory, and may use a series of codes to indicate the severity of any required remedial work. If the report identifies any issues, landlords must address and rectify the remedial work within 28 days of the report being completed.
